2.5 starsThere was a lot going on in this book and I think the overall story suffered because of it I would have been fine with less of the plot revolving around Lucky The story got too bogged down with the Lucky drama I think I get what the author was going for but the execution just felt like a bad movie plot I thought for sure when I picked this one up it would be a fun summer read but when you start feeling bored with the story and the book is over 400 pages, let s just say it was not a 2.5 starsThere was a lot going on in this book and I think the overall story suffered because of it I would have been fine with less of the plot revolving around Lucky The story got too bogged down with the Lucky drama I think I get what the author was going for but the execution just felt like a bad movie plot I thought for sure when I picked this one up it would be a fun summer read but when you start feeling bored with the story and the book is over 400 pages, let s just say it was not a fun summer read for me.It s the summer and Julie Barlow is headed to the beach with two of her best friends for a relaxing vacation On the way to their destination, Julie s mom asks for a favor She can t get a hold of her brother, Lucky, and she asks Julie to go check in on him to make sure he is okay Even though Julie has been estranged from him for awhile, she agrees and is bummed it will cut into her vacation time So Julie and her friends take a detour to the Delaware coastal town where Lucky owns a bar Lucky isn t at his bar and the locals don t seem to want to share where he might be with Julie What s going on I think there truly was an opportunity to have a good story with Julie s uncle but how it was written just felt weird and not realistic If the very basics of the character and his relationship with his niece were kept intact but maybe come up with something else for the current story, I probably would have enjoyed this book better Lucky was the downfall of the book which was unfortunate because I thought Julie was an intriguing character but just kinda got lost in the story and didn t get fully fleshed out Julie and Scatter yeah, I kinda cringed every time I read the name had good chemistry and yet it felt like their interactions were minimal which was disappointing I don t really know how to describe this book Is it a romance Regular fiction A mystery thriller I think it tried to be a lot of things which was the problem I won a free advance copy of this book in a giveaway but was under no obligation to post a review All views expressed are my honest opinion

Lucky s Beach was the first book by Ms Noble I have read, and I liked it I thought it was a good, light hearted, easy to get into beach read The main character is in a crisis, having always made choices about her life to make others happy, to the point that she isn t sure what she wants personally or profesionally To add interest, there is also some romance and mystery I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review Thank you

I finished Shelley Noble s Lucky s Beach and rated it on Goodreads, only because there s not an option for 3.5This book is expected out June 30, 2020 and is definitely a beach read but it is also about finding who you are Most of us at one time or another have made decisions based on what other people want or expect from us Some of those decisions are small such as where to get dinner from and some of those are big such as what career we should pursue It is hard to draw the line I finished Shelley Noble s Lucky s Beach and rated it on Goodreads, only because there s not an option for 3.5This book is expected out June 30, 2020 and is definitely a beach read but it is also about finding who you are Most of us at one time or another have made decisions based on what other people want or expect from us Some of those decisions are small such as where to get dinner from and some of those are big such as what career we should pursue It is hard to draw the line between advice and guidance and orders and pressure sometimes Also when you love someone and they are family you generally don t want to disappoint them.Julie spends 10 days at the beach learning about herself and what she wants She also learns that like herself the sleepy little beach town is not what it seems Both Julie and Lucky s Beach are so muchand better than first appearances.I rated this book 3.5 stars because there were secondary storylines I would have liked to seen developedI felt there were unanswered questions and personally I hate unanswered questions unless I know there will be another book to come that will pick up on those storylines That said I think this book has something for everyone some romance, lively dialogue, a bit of intrigue, and family relationships.Grab your beach chair and sunscreen please higher than the SPF 15 Julie, Aggie, and Kayla use , kick off your sandals, and settle in for an enjoyable afternoon at Lucky s Beach.Happy Reading

You really shouldn t judge people before you spend time getting to know them Julie made assumptions about the people living at Lucky s beach She could tell they were hiding something about her uncle Lucky.Alex judged Julie based on the little girl he remembered from their childhood Julie and her friends find a way to enjoy their vacation even while trying to figure out the truth about Uncle Lucky Julie realizes that Lucky and Alex have changed her opinions of them and her past.

Just okayI was a bit disappointed with this book, but remain a fan of the author as I have enjoyed all of her other books For me, this book just didn t seem as cohesive as others The characters and the plot didn t feel complete There were a lot of characters in the book, and the main characters seemed to needsubstance.
