Gorgeous Book, Both Illustration and MessageThere are a lot of younger children in my family, and some of my friends have ones as well, So this book intrigued me when I saw it as an First Reads the cover was just so beautiful, too, and the description hinted that the message inside would be lovely also.I am thoroughly delighted with this book The illustrations, watercolor I think, are simply stunning, several levels above what your typical children s book geared for this age would have The illustrations within the book of the outside world are almost impressionistic in nature, and the illustrator has employed different types of strokes to evoke different movements, like the wind, and to evoke the readers emotions and wonder at the natural world I found the skies to be stunning The colors go from pastels to bright colors, too, so young readers will have a variety of tones and textures to draw their eyes The scenes inside the home are lovely as well, but not quite as dramatic and beautiful as the outside scenes. The backdrop of the story is that parents are telling their child about what the newest human on the planet might be experiencing What does that child see, smell, hear, etc Does he or she see the moon and stars the love of their parents reflected back to them The questions about senses could make this book so interactive if you read it with a child and ask the same questions I love books that engage both the adult and young reader, and this book does both on several levels with the gorgeous pictures and multi part message within the text The book is simply beautiful to look at, and the message about familial and parental love is gently expressed in several different ways If you have a young child in your life, you and he or she may enjoy looking at and reading this book together.

Somewhere in the worldthe world so farthe world so widesomeone is the youngest person alive. This is one of those welcome to the world baby books, that morphs into one of those circle of life books, and before you know it, you re sitting down to have yourself a good cry over how wonderful, and how amazing, and how short life is And maybe on some far off day,if you re as lucky as me,the newest person in the world will open their eyes to seea grown up you smiling back at them.

Great I really like the message in the words, the pictures, and the people in this little book on family The idea that we seed continuous generations with our actions is a Bull s Eye.
