Full disclosure on my review The first book that I have read by this author last book in the series the setting is in Africa, and I really didn t know what to expect Well, let me tell you this book surprised me in ways that I never saw coming Seriously I read a lot of Heartwarming books but this one just grabbed me and wouldn t let go It is a very fast paced book Most books in this line take their time but Ms Sinara didn t write it like that The book covers about a month if tha Full disclosure on my review The first book that I have read by this author last book in the series the setting is in Africa, and I really didn t know what to expect Well, let me tell you this book surprised me in ways that I never saw coming Seriously I read a lot of Heartwarming books but this one just grabbed me and wouldn t let go It is a very fast paced book Most books in this line take their time but Ms Sinara didn t write it like that The book covers about a month if that I m fine with that because sometimes I will put down a book if the plot is drawn out too long.Ms Sinara does a great job of getting me invested into the characters right away Chad is not the loner that he thinks he is In fact, he is quite the opposite If you read the first book in the series, he is one of the children in it but sadly, I didn t read it In the author s note at the beginning of the book, she mentions it But what I really loved about him is the honor that he brings not just to his family but to the clinic, Lexi and even for the thief.Lexi has some chutzpah Personally, promise or no, I couldn t do what she is doing Pregnant, no family, and regardless of being a nurse, a nice hospital to have the baby in But hey, that s just me But her chutzpah is her greatest strengths Let s just say the birth is OMG and I will leave it at that She never backs down, dedicated and doesn t pity Chad in the least I would love to explainabout him but then I would spoil most of the book She gives it to him in spades and he deserves it, most of the time. These two are just meant for each other Truly Don t let the whole dead best friend s wife scare you It will be explained in the book Trust me on this one I can t end the review with a few thoughts on the setting of the book Africa Not a place that I have high up on the bucket list but a country that I would love to see in my lifetime On a safari Not in a tent I m not that brave like Lexi is I liked how Ms Sinara explains the places that she takes us to, so I really felt like I was really there And yes, I love elephants What she DIDN T do was give us a lot of details on the actual characters in the book Personally, I loved that I really don t care what color their eyes hair are or if they are tall short thin curvy, etc I just want to read a really good story that gives me characters that I can care about and in the end, feel satisfied with the ending and how I felt at the end.Ms Sinara wrote an epilogue, which I appreciated but since I didn t read the other books, I was kinda lost However, I really need to read the first book, Chad s father s story to fully understand most of the elders in the book.I tell you this every time I read a Harlequin Heartwarming story, please read this line Its character heavy, sweet slow building romance that anyone can read and in the end finish with a smile on their face I do every time and this time, I m still thinking about it

This series has been a fave with its Kenya setting diverse and engaging characters I ve loved how we started with one generation and followed it down through their children as well The Marine s Return feels like the last book and, if indeed it is, it makes the perfect sendoff.Chad and Lexi are compelling characters, their stories drawing you in and making it easy to root for them A secondary romance playing out in the background adds further dimension to an already layered plot.Bottom line This series has been a fave with its Kenya setting diverse and engaging characters I ve loved how we started with one generation and followed it down through their children as well The Marine s Return feels like the last book and, if indeed it is, it makes the perfect sendoff.Chad and Lexi are compelling characters, their stories drawing you in and making it easy to root for them A secondary romance playing out in the background adds further dimension to an already layered plot.Bottom line If you haven t read this series yet, you simply must Start at the beginning for full effect, though each book can be read as a standalone The Marine s Return engages readers from start to finish, and Chad and Lexi s multi dimensional stories tug at the heart There is some mild profanity scattered throughout but it s few and far between I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book first seen at Reading Is My SuperPower

When this book is described as clean, they aren t kidding I can t remember a single kiss, and barely any touching Aside from the HEA, I d barely call this a romance it s got wayscene setting and family tree explanation Lots of backstory on every character who comes into the campthan once Also, what s the deal with the lower right corner of the cover Is that someone ELSE S arm

4.5 stars. The hero s strength and stoicism are amazing, but perhaps too much maturity for his age 24 Loved the setting, and the author s love and knowledge about it.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOKLexi was determined To keep her dead husband s dreams going by working at the Serengeti medical clinic and raising their baby to know a part of his fathers heritage But when Chad found out that his best friends very pregnant wife was working at the clinic, Chad was determined to close the clinic down because he had made a promise to his friend, that if anything happened to him, Chad was to take care of his wife Well, the time has come for Chad to fulfill that purpose A MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOKLexi was determined To keep her dead husband s dreams going by working at the Serengeti medical clinic and raising their baby to know a part of his fathers heritage But when Chad found out that his best friends very pregnant wife was working at the clinic, Chad was determined to close the clinic down because he had made a promise to his friend, that if anything happened to him, Chad was to take care of his wife Well, the time has come for Chad to fulfill that purpose And the Best Way, Chad knows how to do that is to close the clinic down But Chad had no idea who he was up against with Lexi But he was soon to find out the determination that Lexi felt in keeping the clinic open Thus the journey begins.I really did enjoy this story This is the first book in the series that I have read and I hope to readfrom this author I enjoyed the creative characters and the way they seem so realistic I have not read very many books set in Kenya, so this part of the book was very interesting to me I enjoyed the scenes at the clinic as well as the surrounding areas The talk about the wildlife, and especially how they could he at the sounds of the wild As I read, I would imagine hearing the different animals as they made known their presense.I also appreciate how the Arthur deals with a wounded Marine, His life and what he goes through during his time of healing, and the life he is forced to live after his injuries There s a lot of things happening in this book A lot of characters of which I didn t quite get them all straightened out But I plan to read the other books in the series to get to know some of the other characters that I read about in this book This is really a fun And Entertaining book to read This is not the usual kind of book I read but it is a clean romance book that I very much enjoyed I also want to thank the author for the nice Thank You note and Bookmark A copy of this book was provided by Prism Tours and the author, Rula Sinara I was not ask to write a positive review The opinions here in this review are my own personal opinions

Romance in the heart of KenyaMy rating is 3.5 starsKenya is a country on my list of places I would love to visit And I enjoyed being able to do that vicariously through The Marine s Return.Though wounded, Chad was a strong character He had been injured and was suffering from phantom pains in his arm that was noyet still had a strong need to protect and to serve Until he helped his dad secure the clinic in the bush, he had felt he had lost his purpose I liked Chad with his vulnerability Romance in the heart of KenyaMy rating is 3.5 starsKenya is a country on my list of places I would love to visit And I enjoyed being able to do that vicariously through The Marine s Return.Though wounded, Chad was a strong character He had been injured and was suffering from phantom pains in his arm that was noyet still had a strong need to protect and to serve Until he helped his dad secure the clinic in the bush, he had felt he had lost his purpose I liked Chad with his vulnerability and fears and was so glad to see him heal. There was a mystery about missing medical supplies and a poacher who was known to be injured and lurking somewhere out there While this played into the story, I would not consider this to be an action or mystery or suspense story We knew by little bits and pieces about what was going on with the poacher which was done well.I found it interesting how few details were given about the characters Other than build and hair color, very little was revealed It allowed me to use my imagination to decide what they looked like and deemphasized the physical, which I thought was nice. The story was interesting but it did drag in parts While it stands alone, there were hints along the way of other stories that came before it And the Epilogue attempted to wrap up not only this story but others in the series as well It did seemlike a list of what had happened, though, instead of a narrative.Overall, I am glad I read the book.Read my full review with a Preview at Among the ReadsI was given a copy of this book for free I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review All comments and opinions are my own
