Hi birdie Are you flying home Where do you liveA huge friendly dog follows birdie and tries to discover where birdie lives The pictures zoom in close to apples and leaves and lily pads and burrows and trees with little flaps for lifting so children can experiment and check themselves and play while reading this little board bookIt's a beautiful little adventure with a satisfying ending that children will want to read over and over with a parent or caretaker

“Where Birdie Lives” is a cute uick story of a dog trying to find where the bird lives It goes through a number of different locations and shows where other animals live till the dog finds the bird The book has thick board book pages with many lift flaps The flaps are made of a card stock material and are on top of the pageMy 3 year old loved the flaps and got a kick out of the surprise of the owl under a flap My 5 year old loved the mole family and was able to read some of the story which included a handful of kindergarten sight wordsMy children enjoyed the book and I thought it had a subtle way of teaching animal homes in a fiction storyThe best parts my children said the multiple frogs that are hidden and the owl sort of tricking themI won this book on a Good Reads give away

When I was little okay not just then I was fascinated by “lift the flap” picture books This one is an entertaining story for toddlers and their parents featuring a puppy who is looking for a birdie As he looks in a variety of potential hiding places in the pond in a burrow under a leaf he doesn’t find a bird but he does find all kinds of other cute creatures who live in those places Finally of course he locates the birdie spoiler alert in a nestThe author who is also the illustrator fills this 14 page book with bright colors and cute animals The thick board pages will be easy for children to hold Evaluation This book is rated for kids 0 3 years It is perhaps a reflection of my mental age that I loved it as well As an extra bonus kids will learn something about animal habitats

I won this book from a giveaway and I'm so glad I did I love kid's books and this one is fantastic Yes it is meant for younger kids but the artwork and interactive story through lift a flaps is fun and educational The main character a dog looks everywhere for his bird friend and meets other animals along the way in this colorful bookI can't wait to share this in my future classroom where I can see using this as a material for prepositions or even animal habitats
