My husband and I are fans of Dave Ramsey so it was refreshing hearing another perspective on what the Bible has to say about finances Pastor Robert talks about stewardship than about money God cares about our heart than our bank account The two biggest differences between Dave Ramsey and Pastor Robert's book are Pastor Robert is vocal about God's prompting him to give save and even spend While I know Dave is a Christian he talks about the practical aspect of money which also has its place but as a Christian it is a great reminder to also listen to God's voice of course make sure it's God The other thing is that Pastor Robert is okay with debt He explains it so well He gave me a lot to consider about my finances I recommend this book to EVERYONE with than a dollar to his or her name

This was a new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book The main message was about financial freedom so that you can live generously and within your means Morris gives great real life examples of people who were tremendously in debt and how they managed to become entirely debt free Of course Morris explains the importance of a budget and living within your means but also takes it a step further and tries to explain the reasonings and truth about our spending behaviors and to fix the root of the too much spending problem This book was very applicable to my life stressing the importance of tithing and praying and letting God lead where your money is concerned Morris shares his own personal history of how he himself got out of a financial pickle and how he deals with millions of dollars associated with his mega church After reading this book I pray that I can be a wise steward with the gifts God has given me I have every intention of cutting up my credit cards after I am done paying them off And I want to start an action plan of living within my means and blessing generously as I live a life Beyond Blessed

Several years ago my husband and I went through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University We worked on our budget and paid off a lot of debt and it felt good Then we made several moves for my husband's job and things got a little crazy We didn't take on debt again but we did slack off on budgeting with repairs on our new house and other needs that we had neglected during that time Then this past year we just realized we were just staying sloppy in our budgeting and giving It is time to get back on track Beyond Blessed by Robert Morris came to me at just the time I needed it This past week I have been reading this book with my husband and discussing how we can get ourselves back on track again I feel hopeful alreadyMorris who is the founding Senior Pastor of Gateway Church in Texas originally wrote a book called The Blessed Life which I read several years ago not long after it came out I read it about the same time we started the Financial Peace University class with Dave Ramsey books Dave Ramsey writes the forward to Beyond Blessed I especially love that this book is like a gathering of two of my favorite financial advisors in one place It has been encouraging and gently convicting Beyond Blessed goes beyond budgeting and financial provision information to give a lot of encouraging stories and information on how we are actually God's stewards of all that He entrusts us with our finances our household and our children Beyond Blessed was such a good reminder to me to take care of those things God has blessed us with to budget better again so we can better take care of ourselves and importantly so we can bless those God has put in our path to bless Morris shares many wonderful stories of giving and blessing others and how much joy it has brought him and many others We have had some opportunity to do that on occasion and we want to do of it so that alone is a great motivator to do better with what God has give usHonestly I would encourage everyone who wants to follow God and to use the resources He gives you the best way you possibly can to further His kingdom to read Beyond Blessed This book is easy to read and follow Morris gives a lot of personal examples He shares some parts in a lighthearted manner which makes the hard things bearable and throughout all of the book he shares in a spirit of love and encouragement He shares convicting truths from God's word but he encourages you to get beyond the mistakes and hard stuff and get to the better part of living for God the way that you know God wants you to As I mentioned add to that some budgeting helps and advice from Dave Ramsey and I highly recommend Beyond BlessedI received this book from FaithWords I was not reuired to write a positive review #sponsoredbyfaithwords

Morris wrote a book over a decade ago on generous living called The Blessed Life He realized from comments he received from readers that many did not understand the underlying concept of living generously that one must live within one's means Hence this book on financial principlesMorris reminds us we are stewards and not owners of what God has provided for us He really helps us understand that mindset I was surprised that the stewardship is not only of external things like money and possessions but also internal things like our mind soul and body He also reminds us that our stewardship of our possessions keeping our car looking nice our lawn mowed testifies to others showing how we care for what God has put in our careOther aspects of this book I really appreciated include his teaching on the trap of immediate gratification He has an excellent section on the buy now pay later philosophy and what contentment really is He also has good lessons on a poverty mentality as well as the mindset of materialism and how they are deceptiveMorris does not provide detailed instructions on actions such as making a budget He notes that there are many online resources to create a budget His purpose here is to inspire people to get started living within their means and commit to a disciplined lifestyleI recommend this book to Christians who want to understand the principles behind good stewardship of finances that leads to the blessed life of living generously Gratitude is an important one for example Even though Morris does write about finances this book concentrates on the biblical principles behind our wise stewardship of what God has put in our careI received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher My comments are an independent and honest review

Beyond blessed is a good book that builds on The Blessed Life Bob Morris uses scripture to stress the importance putting God first creating a budget and giving I thought this book was practical than The Blessed Life He provides good ideas about setting up a budget and obeying God Nevertheless Pastor Morris is a bit rigid He uses absolutes and all or nothing thinking in Beyond Blessed I like that he uoted Stephen Covey's concept of First Things First in this book Covey wants us to prioritize the most important things in our life each day Morris says that we need to remember car repairs home repairs and medical bills because they vary from month to month Having an emergency fund is key Extreme giving and stewardship will always bring happiness and joy according to Bob Morris I think there is a middle ground and it is good to avoid extremes Bob Morris does take things to an extreme here and there He believes that people should give beyond the tithe 10% and make a large offering to their local church This will make you Beyond Blessed said Pastor Morris Bob stresses the importance of gratitude as well Overall I think he is a good man who helps many people with his ministry I recommend this book to anyone seeking spiritual and financial advice I think we would live in a better world if people gave to other people Having a hard heart is not good We should put God first in our lives God likes a cheerful giver Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver 2 Corinthians 97

Beyond Blessed God's Perfect Plan to Overcome All Financial Stress by Robert Morris is a powerful finance book that can both educate and assist readers in making positive and long lasting changes in the way they manage their resourcesThis is a book that does a great job of removing the guesswork and the stress from financial management if readers are willing to make the necessary changes and investments There is no doubt that this book will be very helpful to those beginning their journey into proper financial management but it also shares valuable principles that can aid those who have been on their journey for some timeThe best and most impactful thing about this book to me is its emphasis on proper stewardship Stewardship is a concept that many people are unaware of or do not truly understand Robert does a fantastic job of explaining what stewardship is from a biblical perspective why it is important and what is reuired of us if we desire to be good stewards of the resources we have been entrusted withThere is a lot to glean and apply from this book If readers are ready to develop into proper stewards and manage their resources in a way that is honoring to the Most High and will produce benefits in their lives this is a book they should definitely readI received this book free from the publisher through their book review bloggers program and I was not reuired to write a positive review

Sometime you read a book because it's on your list and sometimes you read a book that fits perfectly into the context of your life at the time you read it My reading of Beyond Blessed falls into the latter category Several years ago the Blessed Life was instrumental in influencing my generosity and improving my life Beyond Blessed was released at a time when I am intensely wanting to know Him and have greater participation and contribution in my relationship with the Lord JesusRobert Morris' presentation of the principles regarding stewardship from the motivation for it to it's broad implementation in our lives to it's impact on our lives and our progeny Objective and balanced in his approach Robert Morris firmly establishes Biblical stewardship as the foundation for a life of financial and spiritual sufficiency Read The Blessed Life and Beyond Blessed in order and with an open mind an heart to what God wants you to do
