In many ways the story of Marie Antoinette is a tragic one Not only was she married off to the future king of France at the age of 14 but the fondness of the French citizens turned against her and her husband later on due to her extravagant habits When the French Revolution occurred she and her husband lost their lives in violent ways The book contains a timeline showing the important events in her life a map featuring six significant spots snippets of four individuals relevant to this particular time period and four additional interesting facts about this ueen I was pleased to see her bio something of a cautionary tale added to this series ideal for introducing youngsters to individuals who were ground breakers in various ways and whose lives didn't always have happy endings
