I enjoyed this collection of poems beacause I felt that it put girls into a positive light I think that it is important that girls know their self worth from a young age, and I think this collection of poems does a good job at promoting that I enjoyed the use of different structures of poems and I think that it helped create variety I also enjoyed that the book was split up into categories of poems, so if a girl was struggling with something in specific, they would know where to look I thin I enjoyed this collection of poems beacause I felt that it put girls into a positive light I think that it is important that girls know their self worth from a young age, and I think this collection of poems does a good job at promoting that I enjoyed the use of different structures of poems and I think that it helped create variety I also enjoyed that the book was split up into categories of poems, so if a girl was struggling with something in specific, they would know where to look I think this would make a good choice for independent reading I do not think it would be appropriae to read as a read aloud book beacause it does not focus on the boys of the class, which would not be fair to them and I feel as if many of the boys in the class would lose interest in a girls poetry book very easily I would reccomend it for girls who were strugling with their self image or who may be bullied This book has encouraging poems that speak to the fact that all girls are different from one another, but that is okay and it should be celebrated I think that this collection of poems would be best suited for girls in grades 4 6 because there are some poems that deal withmature issues and things such as tween girl drama that I do not think younger girls would be able to connect to

Tomboys, ladies, best friends, sweethearts, daughters, adventurers all are celebrated in this collection of over 75 poems about girls The lines range from serious to silly, simple to contemplative, and all focus on what it means to be a girl Black and white line drawings dot the pages, adding visual interest This is a nice collection for the 6th 8th grade set.
